SINGIN’ & STAGIN’ A Middle School Musical Theatre Class Grades 6 – 8 Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:30p.m. – 6p.m. Singin’ & Stagin’ is a complete musical theater workshop for middle school students. The workshop will cover a variety of topics, such as: Improvisation, Character Development, Scene Writing, Monologues, Song Expression, and Vocal Exercises. Students will be exposed to classic Broadway tunes, theater techniques, and movement exercises. The students’ work will be showcased in an informal performance for friends and family. Jessica Berman & Christopher Gempp will facilitate this class. Tuition: $200 AFTERSCHOOL THEATRE ARTS An Elementary Theatre Class Grades 3 – 5 Mondays & Wednesdays 4p.m. – 5p.m. Afterschool Theater Arts is the fun way to nurture your kids’ creativity through successproven theater games, while exploring a brief history of theater. These young participants will gain all of the basic skills for drama performance. This is a skills-driven class with an emphasis on training and technique, but will conclude with a short informal presentation for parents and friends. Held at the Garrison Players Arts Center, and facilitated by Jenn Batchelder. Tuition: $180 WEEKLY ART CLASSES Elementary Art Classes Grades 1 & 2 Wednesdays 4pm – 5pm Grades 3 – 6 Wednesdays 5 – 5:45 pm Classes are geared to allow students the freedom to create artwork using their choice of subject matter while learning to use a variety of materials, learning various art techniques in the process. Each lesson will include references to artists, art history, and elements of design so students will also gain an appreciation for viewing art. We will work in materials such as; jewelry, fabric, collage, painting, drawing, clay, and more. OPEN STUDIO CLASS Middle & High School Art Class Grades 7 – 12 Wednesdays 6 – 6:45 pm Each class will include all materials. Each lesson will begin with a drawing or painting exercise to improve skills and visual perception. Each student will then work in a medium and style of their choice. In order to encourage students to explore their artistic expression, individual goals will be set for each student, based on their skills and interests.
