Garrison Players Arts Center Holds Open Auditions for Not On This Night
Garrison Players will present a holiday production of Evelyn Jones' Not On This Night. Open auditions are Monday, September 14 at 6:00pm and Saturday, September 19 at 11:00am at the Garrison Players Arts Center on Route 4 in Rollinsford.
Actors should be prepared to do a cold-reading from the script. Auditions are drop-ins, so no appointment is needed. Performances will be December 11-20, directed by Peggi McCarthy.
The play is set on December 24, 1944, in the Ardennes Forest, just before the Battle of the Bulge. A French farm girl, determined to celebrate the season despite the war, encounters two lost soldiers, a German and then an American. Despite their fear and distrust, her courage and good spirits create room for them to put down their arms for a time, and even to laugh together. Playwrite Evelyn Jones, a long-time Seacoast resident, passed away in 2014; this production is meant in part to honor her memory.
GPAC seeks three actors - two men, one woman, able to play age 18-25. Woman must be able to speak/learn French accent and one man must be able to speak/learn German accent.
